Honda Civic To Be Discontinued In Indian Market |
Honda pulled the plug on Civic. The most successfull luxury sedan Honda Civic is going to end its long marathon in auto market of India. Current version was released in 2006 and it is been successfull. The main reason behind the idea of decommissioning the luxury sedan is lack of apt diesel engine for the car. Recently a diesel version of Honda Civic released in European market as per Honda that engine doesnt suit for Indian roads. Indian market is taking a leap towards diesel vehicles and Civic would not be able to be in the charts for long time. In india till Diwali Civic production continues and then the end of the Saga.
Recent verison of Civic is not a huge improvement over the outgoing one, reviews are not that great may be this is one more reasaon. All competitors in its class has got a diesel version so it would be difficult for Civic to survive in the market. But Civic has been dream car of Luxury sedan lovers in India. Still Civic got good share in the market, in July 2012 138 Civic cars have been sold out approximately. This is the time for Honda to concentrate on Diesel engines for their best sellers in the Indian market. Car buyers are no more ready to bear the increasing expenses on petrol. Iam one of those in the millions who are dreaming to have a diesel Civic in the market. Hope Honda’s think tank listen takes this seriously. And I would say Civic had met the expectations in the market and had ever lasting impression in Auto world. It is a honourable decommission for Civic. Let’s see.
