Merc has come with estate version of CLS, Shooting Brake for European market. Yes, this beast lives up to the expectations of the estate category. We Indians who like to own estates, the dear stationary ones would definitely like this if Merc decides to surprise.

With slight modifications we can adapt the new merc Shooting Brake on Indian roads. The coupe boot has been converted to hatch without spoiling the look and infact acquired the cosmo look. Roof and rear C pillar sloped down ending with two tail lamps giving a sleek look to the rear part of the estate. Interiors are plush airy and luxurious. Lot of satin is used and for high end model porcelain touch gives the car that exodus look.

Finish looks to be best in the class. Rear seat accommodates three bit congested. Boot space is tremendous. It can accommodate everything we think to carry on a vehicle like Shooting Brake. Boot space is par equal to any other luxury sedan class, 550 -1600 litres. Wooden base option has been designed for estate and aluminum is used instead of steel to keep the weight of the vehicle light .

Merc estate in Europe has been launched two petrol and two diesel versions with all wheel drive option. In India only Merc CLS 350 is for sale. It got all Merc’s features like 7G- TRONIC Plus automatic transmission, Engine Start Stop function.. If launched in India definitely it would cost around 1 crore INR.
