| Bajaj launches Pulsar 200 NS |
Bajaj launched its latest product, Pulsar 200 NS in Andhra Pradesh. This is claimed to be the world’s first motorcycle to adopt a triple spark engine technology. It is priced at Rs 86754 ex showroom in Hyderabad. There is an overall slowdown in the two wheeler segment as seen in the first quarter of this year; But Bajaj Auto seems to be unfazed by the slowdown. Speaking to media, Mr. K Srinivas of Bajaj Auto said that the company was confident of registering a double digit growth this year. The overall industry average growth was around six per cent last quarter. He said that the new launches would keep the market share growing for the company. Out of the 10 million bikes that were sold across the country last year, Bajaj Auto gathered a share of nearly 25 per cent at 2.5 million sales.
Mr. Srinivas added “We believe our new launches will keep our market share growing. This trend is to our advantage, as we have a 40 per cent market share in this segment. The second and third-time bike owners are going in for the over-100cc and sports bikes. From September, we will begin to export the bike. Last year, we sold one million bikes overseas.”

It is lagging behind Hero for quite some time now but it seems to be catching up with the market share with every year. Bajaj Auto is also aggressive when it comes to its models. It believes in diversifying and roles out many models in a year unlike Hero. The main target audience for Bajaj has been the youth and with this new triple spark engine technology, the Pulsar 200 NS seems to have all the potential to improve sales for the company in the second quarter.
