Using CMS's like WordPress, Drupal, and Joomla etc. can definitely offer convenience to users and avoid building a website from scratch. Plus, they have some wonderful plug-in s, widgets to enhance the functionality and looks of a website. If you are planning to have a blog, then as suggested by everyone here, WordPress can definitely be the thing that you are looking for. It can be setup within 15 minutes, and then it’s up to you how you want to customize it.
We see that most users try to imitate the design, navigation etc. of few of the leading sites that dominate the Industry, and forget to use their own skills. Its less often do we see site owners sticking to the basics and thinking from an end-users perspective.
People are constantly talking about how WordPress is more convenient and easy. Building a site using WordPress can indeed offer a lot of flexibility and allow a user to customize it according to the needs. I completely agree, but I do believe people should spend more time learning how to make their WordPress blogs more navigation-friendly. Not every site needs to have content organized by category and post date. It works for some sites, but others need a more static layout to highlight important content instead of a hodgepodge of posts sorted by date. Many WordPress users have told me they have trouble controlling their content layout.
