Improved, Better, Next Version, Upgraded may be all these may convey
pretty same sense and we expect a pretty big package, in contrast New
Maruti Swift Dzire bit smaller than the one it is replacing. I think
this is not to make the new Dzire pretty or for driving comfort or for
law of aerodynamics but some basic mathematics has been worked out
before rolling out the car into the market. That is cost. Any car that
is larger than four meters will give a good bucks to excise department.
So to save the owners pockets New Maruti Swift Dzire posterior has been
tucked inside and gives a compact boot size than old Dzire so it helped
Maruti to price the car competitively.

Overall length of the car is down by 165mm , new swift Dzire is at
3995mm. One good thing about this is after reducing the length of the
car it looks like posterior section is integrated well into rest of the
car than in it did before. The boot space is 316 liters is not upto the
standards of any Sedan. Coming to the exteriors, sporty tail lamps, a
bigger air dam and new grill very different from hatchback and fog lamps
are pretty big. The rear door is marginally big compared to earlier
version so more room to go in and out of the car comfortably. Interiors
are just replicated from Swift. The colour combination black and beige
and light coloured material gives a airy and luxurious feel, but the
whole cabin looked like a dark hole for me. Faux-wood is used for door
and dash panels instead of chrome like in Swift. As front seat back
rests have been scooped out there is more leg room for back sitters and
there is a common armrest for extra comfort. Top end get high-tech
features like climate control, mounted-steering and audio controls.
Driving experience, I felt pretty stable and balanced while driving
at high speeds. Suspensions are soft compared to any other car from
Maruti. Steering feel is like swift, there is no much thrill in driving
with this steering should be ok for family car buyers. Car is pretty
responsive even at low engine revs and giving seamless power at high
engine revs. Gear shift is pretty crisp and smooth and responsive even
in the heavy traffic. But when you pump gas to accelerate or to shift
down on highways it is slow to respond. Not ideal for overtaking.
The new Swift Dzire costs you approx. 6 – 6.45 Lakhs.
